How It Works

Buying a domain from us is a negotiation, not a checkout. There is no price on any listing, no cart, and no account to create. You tell us what a name is worth to you, we answer, and if we agree the transfer runs through Escrow.com.

The process

  1. Make an offer

Open any listing and enter your name, email, phone, and a number. That is the whole form. An offer is not a commitment and does not bind you to anything — it opens a conversation and tells us you are serious enough to put a figure on it.

  2. We reply

You hear back from us directly. We either accept, counter, or tell you plainly that the number is too far apart to work — in which case you have lost nothing but the two minutes it took to ask. There is no broker in the middle taking a percentage of whatever we settle on.

  3. Escrow.com

On agreement, we open a transaction at Escrow.com, the licensed escrow service most commonly used for domain sales. You send funds to Escrow.com — not to us. They hold the money and confirm receipt before anything else happens.

  4. Transfer

Once Escrow.com confirms funds, we move the domain. If you hold an account at the same registrar, that is a push and it is quick. If you are moving it elsewhere, we release the authorisation code and you initiate the transfer at your own registrar.

  5. You accept, then we get paid

Escrow.com gives you an inspection period to confirm the domain is in your account and under your control. Funds are released to us only after you accept. If the transfer does not happen, you get your money back — that is the entire reason the step exists.

What you are buying

The domain name

Full registrant control of the domain, transferred into an account you own. That is the sale.

Not the artwork

The logo shown on each listing illustrates the name. It is a concept, and it does not convey with the sale.

No website or traffic

These are names, not operating businesses. Nothing is being represented about existing visitors, revenue, or rankings.

Registration dates on each listing come from public WHOIS records and are stated as we found them. You can verify any of them yourself in about ten seconds.

Questions we get

Why is there no price?
Because what a name is worth depends on who is buying it. A name that fits your business exactly is worth more to you than to anyone else, and a fixed price either leaves money on the table or scares off the person it was made for. Tell us your number and we will tell you where we stand.
What if my offer is too low?
We will say so, and usually counter. Nobody is offended by a low offer — it is the opening of a negotiation, which is how domains have always been sold.
Do I have to use Escrow.com?
For anything but a trivial amount, yes, and it protects you far more than it protects us. You are the one sending money to a stranger on the internet. Escrow.com holds it until the domain is demonstrably in your account.
Who pays the escrow fee?
Agreed as part of the deal. Say what you prefer when you make your offer.
How long does the transfer take?
It depends on where you want it. A push to an account at the same registrar is fast. An inter-registrar transfer runs on your registrar's timetable and ICANN's transfer rules, not ours. We will tell you which applies once we know where the name is going.
Can I pay in instalments?
Ask. Escrow.com supports structured payments and we will consider it on a case-by-case basis.
Is the name really available?
Every name on this site is one we own and can transfer. If a listing is live, it has not been sold.
Can you find me a name that is not listed?
Tell us what you are building. If we have something that fits, we will point you at it, and if we do not, we will say that too.
